Many mainline airlines now operate from the US and Canada to Belize City International Airport, (BZE). Local carriers, Maya Island Air and Tropic Air operate regular scheduled flights from BZE to Placencia, (PLJ). Flights take about 25 minutes and connect with most mainline flights. For those who want to see a little more of Belize, how about a min-van or Chevrolet Suburban with a good driver and take the 3.5 hour road trip through the mountains.
